Buying clothing online can seem daunting, so we at Fashion Cupcake do everything we can to make it easier for you to find the right fit. Since we sell many different brands, sizing is not the same for every single garment. So while you might be a small in one size, you could be a medium in another.

Fashion Cupcake is a juniors and misses boutique. Juniors and misses sizes tend to run smaller than women's sizes, which is why we offer a size chart comparison on each product listing.

To make sure you always order the correct size, we list the garment's measurements on the item's page for a size small. If you have any questions about the measurements of any size, please feel free to email us at info@shopfashioncupcake.com.

Which size do I choose?

Every garment has measurements listed in inches on its page. These measurements are taken by laying the garment flat and measuring across the front. The number is not the circumference and does not take stretch into consideration when measuring knits. To find the right size, take an article of clothing that fits you well and measure across the front while the garment is lying flat.

Bust Measurement: Lay shirt (dress, jacket, etc.) flat and measure from under the armpit on one side to under the armpit on the other side.

Waist Measurement: This is the natural waist, which is the smallest part of the midsection. On skirts or pants this is the waistband, on dresses and shirts it is the narrowest part of the torso. Measure from one side of the garment to the other.

Hip Measurement: This is the widest area of the hips on pants or skirts below the waist. Measure from one side of the garment to the other.

Inseam: Measure from the crotch of the leg seam to the inside bottom of the pant leg.

Rise: Measure from the bottom of the crotch seam to the top of the waist.

Length: On shirts, dresses, and outerwear, this refers to the measurement from the top shoulder down to the bottom hem of the garment. On skirts length is measured from the top of the waistband to the bottom of the garment. On strapless dresses, this is from the armpit to the bottom of the hem.

*For outerwear it is recommended that you allow at least one inch of ease in the bust and waist to allow for wearing layers or bulky sweaters underneath. For example, if a flat shirt measurement that fits you well is 19", the flat measurement of the coat should be at least 20".
